Osteoarthritis is becoming most common disease not only limited to old people but it is rapidly increasing among young and middle age people. Osteoarthritis is a form of Arthritis which occurs due to wear and tear of cartilage of joints. Commonly it affects the knee joint, but other joints can also be affected. Common symptoms of it are pain and stiffness in the joint, which limits ability of the joint. Lifestyle changes can limit or delay osteoarthritis changes. One should focus on natural cure for Osteoarthritis rather being dependent only on medicines. Natural cure for Osteoarthritis are weight loss, exercise and balanced, controlled diet. Regular diet should consist of grains, pulses, green vegetables, fruits, milk and oil. Divide your diet into two parts.   • Consume fruits and vegetable in large amount.
  • Fruits like apple, orange, grapes, Jambolan are rich in vitamins and anti oxidants and should be added to diet. While mango, Chickoo etc should be restricted.
  • Vegetables like broccoli, tomato, spinach, sugarcane, should be added to diet.
  • Intake of cold drinks should be restricted as they have high content of sugar.
  • Food like burger, pizza, cakes, cookies, biscuits, sandwich should be restricted as they contain large amount of calories.
  • Low calorie food to be taken more like, curd, fresh fruits, roasted gram, Soya paneer, whole wheat biscuits .
  • Avoid alcohol.
ROLE OF CINNAMON IN OSTEOARTHRITIS:

CINNAMON is rich in fibre, iron, manganese and calcium. It controls blood sugar and cholesterol. According to a research people taking half tablespoon cinnamon powder with one big tablespoon honey daily before breakfast, are seen to get relive from symptoms of osteoarthritis very early. Results are seen within one week.

ROLE OF VITAMIN D IN OSTEOARTHRITIS:

Role of vitamin D  in osteoarthritis is very important. Intake of vitamin rich food gives relive from pain of arthritis. Vitamin D is made naturally  in body on Sun ray exposure. So, people suffering from osteoarthritis should sit in sun daily for 30 mins. Fish oil are rich in omega 3 fatty acid. Oil of fish like salmon are rich in omega 3. Food like mushroom, beef liver, cheese and egg yolk are rich in vitamin D.
